The Department of Justice is pursuing criminal charges against a Philadelphia woman who couldn’t quite control her bladder on a Frontier Airlines flight. According to a DOJ press release, 60-year-old Dulce Huertas is facing charges of simple assault, interference with a flight crew, and indecent exposure after she allegedly pulled down her pants on a flight in November 2023 and threatened to relieve herself in the aisle of the aircraft.

An affidavit obtained by Business Insider outlines what purportedly happened on the flight. Huertas was flying from Orlando to Philadelphia in November and had two alcoholic drinks during her flight. As the plane was approaching the airport, Huertas reportedly stood up and declared “I have to pee.” She allegedly began yelling and cursing to take her anger out on a flight attendant who told her to sit down. She continued to curse at other passengers after she sat back down, prompting the flight crew to call security to greet them at the gate.

When the seatbelt sign went off, Huertas decided she couldn’t hold it any longer. “Sorry, everybody,” she said as she pulled down her pants and underwear and squatted “as if to urinate in the aisle,” according to the legal document. While she didn’t go so far as to relieve herself, she still kept going off on fellow travelers. “Huertas continued to yell, curse, and threaten to kill multiple passengers,” the criminal complaint said. She also “used her belly to bump” a flight attendant stopping her from getting off the plane.

Huertas faces a maximum sentence of 21 years in prison, three years of supervised release, and a $355,000 fine if found guilty. That’s a tough lesson in learning how to plan your bathroom trips on a flight
