When car buyers are evaluating their vehicle options, reliability is always a key concern. And who better to judge how reliable a car is than the people who repair them?

A recent TikTok shared by Accurate Automotive in Northglenn, CO asked each of the shop’s mechanics to choose a car brand that’s not likely to make it to 100,000 miles. Each person gave a different answer, with responses including Mercedes-Benz, Jeep, Audi, Chevy, and the now-defunct Korean manufacturer Daewoo, as well as “any high-end luxury car.”

The 2023 J.D. Power and Associates report ranked Lexus as the most-reliable car brand in the mass-market sector, followed by Kia, Buick, Chevy, Mitsubishi, and Toyota. Out of the brands the mechanics named, only Chevy landed in the Top 5 for reliability.

As commenters noted, there’s always exceptions to the rule. “My Mercedes is at 145,000 and going strong! If you maintain them, they last,” wrote one person. “My Mercedes has 260,000 miles and hasn’t had any issues,” added another.

Still, many seemed to agree about Jeep vehicles, while others simply found the variety of answers amusing. Check out the full video below:
