Taking your car into the shop is never a fun experience, but you can rest assured knowing your ride is in good hands. The first step in taking care of any problem is to diagnose the issue, and some car brands tend to have certain snafus more often than others.
Accurate Automotive body shop in Northglenn, CO has erned a following of nearly 200,000 people on TikTok thanks to the advice of the mechanics who work there. In a recent series of videos, the workers dove into some of the most common issues they encounter with different car brands, from a high-end BMW to Ford, Nissan, and Subaru vehicles.

BMW
BMW might be a luxury brand, but that doesn’t mean a car won’t have its fair share of problems.
“BMWs are sensitive towards their voltage system, as well as their temperatures,” one mechanic said of the make. “We see a lot of water pumps leak on them, we see the alternators go out on them.”
“Those are the two most common things when it comes to BMW. If it can’t read temperature, can’t read voltage, it can be a domino effect from there,” he added.
Other mechanics in the shop seemed to agree with another issue. Three different employees said that BMWs’ electric water pumps are the most common part they have to fix.

Ford
When it comes to Ford vehicles, some mechanics noted the issues with transmissions and the four-wheel drive system. One worker commented on the 3.5L engine’s “chains and phaser issues,” which another mechanic agreed with.
“If you really wanna go there, oh man, I love Ford,” the man laughed sarcastically. “Let’s start with their f–king tiny chain problems or their phaser problems or the fact that they’ve got a big ‘F-O-R-D’ on the f–king front of their vehicle.”
One worker said that the list of problems with Ford is simply too long. “Oh man, I don’t think we have a video long enough for that,” he said when asked about common Ford issues.

Nissan
When it comes to Nissans, pretty much every mechanic in the shop was in agreement on the most common problem they face: their CVT systems, short for continuously variable transmission.
Five of the six mechanics featured in the video testified to the same issue. “Their CVT transmissions suck,” one said. “You can expect the CVT transmission failure with Nissan,” another pointed out, which another worker also called out, saying “Their CVTs fail a lot.”
One mechanic seemingly summarized the most common issue in even simpler terms: “That it’s a Nissan.”

Jeeps might be built for the outdoors, but that doesn’t mean they sometimes have costly problems. A recurring issue some of the Accurate mechanics encounter is the so-called “death wobble.”
“Jeeps are notorious for a ‘death wobble,'” one worker said. “I was actually just talking to a customer about a death wobble on their son’s car, and she said [at] highway speeds, when you hit a bump, you just have a bit of a vibration from the front of the vehicle.” He also pointed out that water pumps often have issues and oil coolers frequently leak, which other mechanics also noted. “So unfortunately yes, there are a few things that Jeeps are known for—water pumps, oil cooler, suspension issues.”
Jeeps also often have problems with internal wiring, HVAC, and power steering. One mechanic summed it up best: “Just empty every pocket.”
