Why You Will Love This Recipe

  • By using yogurt instead of mayonnaise or sour cream, we have made it a little lighter, but still delicious!
  • It comes together in 5 minutes.
  • Keep it in the fridge to quickly drizzle on a salad or as a delicious veggie dip.
  • It’s so much healthier than the store-bought dressings, which contain a multitude of chemicals and preservatives.

Is This Peppercorn Ranch Dressing Keto?

No. It uses yogurt and buttermilk, both of which contain lactose (i.e., milk sugar), and therefore contains too many carbs for it to be considered keto friendly. It also contains Worcestershire sauce, which has sugar.

To make it keto friendly, replace the yogurt with full-fat sour cream or a Greek yogurt that is high in fat and low in carbs. You can also replace the buttermilk with heavy cream and a hint of vinegar or lemon juice to replicate that tanginess. As for the Worcestershire and hot sauces, check the labels and find ones that are low in sugar.

FAQs

Can I use fat-free yogurt?

Yes, you can. It will be slightly runnier, so use less buttermilk if you want it to maintain its thickness.

Can I use a blender to mix this all together?

Yes, no problem, just don’t over-blend. Blending creates heat through friction, which can cause the herbs to lose their color and flavor. It also can incorporate too much air, which can lead to a frothy dressing.

why does my dressing taste a bit bland?

Did you let it rest in the fridge after mixing it? Doing so for at least an hour lets the ingredients mingle and creates a more robust flavor. As well, feel free to adjust the amount of ingredients until the desired taste is attained.

How To Store Peppercorn Ranch Dressing

Put the dressing in an airtight container or resealable jar. This will keep it fresh and prevent odors from seeping out. It can generally last for up to a week in the fridge. Freezing is not recommended.
