Goat Cheese Quiche

Your guests will think this veggie-filled, flavorful Goat Cheese Quiche, is straight from a French restaurant.

Goat Cheese Quiche

I don’t know where to begin with how deep my love is for any quiche, but especially this Goat Cheese Quiche. So I’ll begin with a little history of this delicious dish. Who doesn’t like a side of knowledge with a new recipe? Now there seems to be a debate over whether quiche originated in France or Germany. The word quiche comes from the German word “kuchen” which means cake. Think like Käsekuchen (cheesecake) or Mohnkuchen (poppyseed cake). I may also have a love for German cakes and pastries.

Anyway! Most people think quiche is French, which is not wrong. Historically quiche comes from an area called Lotharingia, which stretched across both France and Germany in Medieval Times. Quiche became a popular dish in the States in the 1950s and comes in a ton of varieties. The most popular is the Quiche Lorraine, likely followed by Ham and Cheese Quiche. But like many other recipes, the quiche has evolved to fit into present-day trends, which we see in this low-carb Gluten-Free Quiche with Almond Flour .

You will love this Goat Cheese Quiche because it is easy to prepare, but its fancy history and perfect flavor combination will make anyone swoon. With fresh ingredients like minced garlic and a bunch of fresh spinach, complimenting the tanginess of sun-dried tomatoes and the creaminess of goat cheese, this will be your new go-to for any brunch or potluck.

Is Goat Cheese Quiche Healthy?

This dish contains tons of protein and fresh ingredients, which are beneficial to your health. Eggs contain phosphorus, choline, and vitamin D as well as protein. We also use fresh garlic which is great for your immune system and fighting off the common cold, as well as lowering blood pressure. Additionally, spinach is rich in antioxidants and vitamin C. This recipe is also vegetarian friendly.

How Do I make a Pie Crust?

This recipe for Goat Cheese Quiche calls for a homemade pie crust. If you do not have a recipe that you normally use, feel free to use one of ours! The filling for this quiche is truly delectable, so you will want to use a crust that can match. I recommend this amazing, flakey, Quiche Crust. With just a few ingredients, you will be so thrilled that you went with a homemade crust instead of store-bought. Be sure to bake the crust first before adding the quiche mixture. FAQs & Tips

How to Make Ahead and Store?

The best part about quiche is it is delicious at room temperature and cold! So it is cool to make it ahead. Your quiche will last in the fridge for 3 to 5 days or in the freezer for up to 3 months! Just be sure to bring it down to room temperature before storing it in an air-tight container.

What Can I use if I don’t have pie weights?

You can use dried beans or rice in place of pie weights. Be sure to line with parchment paper first.

Can I use Skim milk instead?

Yes! You can actually use whatever milk you have on hand. Oat milk is just fine and so is cream.
