Taylor Swift Fans Troll Travis Kelce Over Hilarious Resurfaced Tweets

Taylor Swift’s already highly-publicized relationship with Travis Kelce went into full overdrive last weekend when the Kansas City Chiefs tight-end traveled to Argentina to watch the 33-year-old perform a stop on her Eras tour in Buenos Aires. And in the wake of the latest media spectacle, Swifties have begun digging up Kelce’s old tweets, perhaps in an effort to get a peek into the mind of their idol’s boyfriend.

But unfortunately for Taylor Swift fans, while thankfully the detective work hasn’t turned up anything problematic—that we’re aware of, anyway—Kelce’s old tweets prove that his mind is an uncomplicated place, to say the least. A fan account highlighted one tweet in particular, making the comparison between Swift and her beau from around the same time period 12 years ago.

“Taylor swift in 2011,” the account posted, along with lyrics from Swift’s 2021 rerelease of “All Too Well (Taylor’s Version)” which essentially confirmed that the song was about her ex-boyfriend Jake Gyllenhaal: “From when your Brooklyn broke my skin and bones / I’m a soldier who’s returning half her weight / And did the twin flame bruise paint you blue? / Just between us, did the love affair maim you too?”

Meanwhile, the post offered a side-by-side to what Kelce was tweeting in 2011, which was: “I just gave a squirle a peice of bread [sic].” That’s a real tweet that is still live, at the time of this writing.

But that was just the tip of the iceberg, as another fan account posted an entire thread of Kelce’s screenshot tweets with, shall we say, creatively spelled words including “stair” (instead of “stare”), “findland,” “goat-cart,” and so on.

But honestly, while the posts may seem mean-spirited—and again, in this day and age, these are the least controversial old tweets that could surface—they seem to have only further endeared Kelce to his girlfriend’s fans. For proof, look no further than the NFL star’s wholesome enthusiasm for the aughts-popular rock band MGMT.

On Wednesday’s new episode of his New Heights podcast, which he hosts with his brother, Jason Kelce of the Philadelphia Eagles, the 34-year-old was pressed about Swift changing the lyrics to her song “Karma” to reference her boyfriend, who was seen watching adoringly in the VIP section over the weekend. Instead of “Karma is the guy on the screen, coming straight home to me,” Swift replaced the line with “Karma is the guy on the Chiefs, coming straight home to me,” to Kelce’s noticeable delight.

As Kelce revealed, the trip had actually been his first time traveling south of the equator.

“Yeah, no, had no clue … well, I might have had a little bit of a clue,” Kelce said, when his brother asked him how it felt to be “the guy on the Chiefs.” “Definitely when I heard it come out of her mouth, still shocked me. I was like, ‘oh, shh, she really just said that, alright,'” he continued. He also apologized to Swift’s father for evidently missing a high-five in the heat of the moment.

“For those of you who haven’t seen all the videos of me on your TikTok and your Instagram feed, I was enjoying myself down there in Buenos Aires,” Kelce added. “The show was even more electric, um, knowing that I had a little bit more to enjoy for. And yeah, Taylor absolutely ripped it, she killed it. And it looked like she was having some fun up there.”

It’s no wonder that Swift’s fans are nearly as smitten as the singer. You can watch the podcast segment, below:
