Popeye’s Is Bringing Back Two Seafood Favorites for a Limited Time

Popeye’s has brought back two fishy fan favorites, but only for a limited time.
On Valentine’s Day (and just in time for Lent), the chain announced the return of their Flounder Fish Sandwich. The beloved sandwich features a golden-fried filet of flounder from Alaska, marinated with signature Louisiana herbs and spices, topped with pickles and tangy tartar sauce on a brioche bun.
Like all of Popeye’s signature sandwiches, it comes in both regular and spicy variants. The spicier option replaces the tartar sauce with a fiery spread.
Popeye’s is also bringing back their much-adored Shrimp Tackle Box, which combines crispy fried shrimp, a hot buttery biscuit, tartar sauce, and a side of your choosing. Customers can also upgrade their tackle box to a Surf and Turf box, which comes with fried shrimp, chicken tenders, a biscuit, and one regular side.
The Flounder Fish Sandwich made its debut in 2021 to much fanfare, though the Shrimp Tackle Box has been around much longer. Each year, its return brings joy to Popeye’s fans worldwide.
“Our Butterfly Shrimp Tackle Box has earned cult-favorite status among Popeyes fans,” Hector A. Muñoz, Popeyes CMO, said in 2016. “Guests know that we are cooking up premium Louisiana-style seafood in our kitchens as only Popeyes can. All year long, they wait for the news that Popeyes Butterfly Shrimp Tackle Box is back.”
Both the Flounder Fish Sandwich and the Shrimp Tackle Box cost only $6, and are available for purchase in-store, on delivery platforms, or in the Popeye’s app. While the chain specifies they’ll only be available “for a limited time,” it doesn’t specify an end date.
