Jacob is the surviving son of Senior Petty Officer Dan Healy, who was killed in Afghanistan during a 2005 rescue attempt portrayed in the book and film, Lone Survivor. Jacob worked for Children of Fallen Patriots, helping to secure scholarship funds for candidates and has since founded Poor Bear Stories, a multimedia production company focused on storytelling around the Special Operations and Gold Star communities.
